Today we’re heading west for a relaxed and beautiful beach themed wedding in Worthing, West Sussex.
Vicki and David held their sunny summer wedding at St John the Baptist’s Church in Findon followed by a reception at Worthing Sailing Club.
We’re handing over to beautiful bride Vicki to hear all about their wonderful Worthing wedding:
I got ready at my Mum’s house in Angmering.
Many elements of the wedding came from many wonderful talented friends and family, not least my Mum.
I did my makeup myself after a MAC make up tutorial in Brighton and my friend Tammy did my hair.
We spent most of our budget on the catering and the photography, which were the most important things to us. Our photographer Neil was recommended by my sister, and as soon as we saw his natural relaxed style we knew he would be perfect for us. And he was! Neil put us at ease from the start and his planning was meticulous. On the day we were barely aware of him being there and we were so pleased with our beautiful wedding photographs.
We spent time looking online for ideas and inspiration and we planned the wedding in six months! I have known for years what I wanted my dress to look like and my wonderful talented mum made it a reality. She also made my bridesmaids’ dresses and our wedding cake!
We set out to make our wedding feel relaxed and informal, and most importantly personal to us. Whilst we didn’t set out with a clear idea of a particular style we ended up with a ‘beach’ theme which worked perfectly. Our wedding car was a VW camper and we held the reception at Worthing Sailing Cub, with panoramic views over the sea. We used dried flowers and grasses for the table decorations. Our wedding favours were personalised rock.
Our wedding colours were: navy, grey and turquoise.
There were so many personal touches as so many things were homemade by family and friends. We were very lucky to have so much help and support from so many generous and talented people.
David’s best man Ant is a graphic designer and did a brilliant job of designing and sourcing our invitations, thank you cards, signage and place names, etc.
Everyone says it, but it’s true – make sure you enjoy your wedding day! Getting really stressed in working so hard to create the perfect day is really easy to do. In the run up to the wedding share out the jobs – in particular the last minute work – to people you can trust to get the job done. That way it isn’t just you doing everything in the days just beforehand.

What a gorgeous Worthing wedding! With mothers day just around the corner it’s so lovely to see how this bride’s lovely mum made so many beautiful elements of this gorgeous wedding: including the wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses and the wedding cake. She did an amazing job too, what a talented mum! Mums really are the best!
Big thanks to Vicki and David for giving us a peek inside their big day and to Neil Walker for sharing these gorgeous photos with us too.
