Bustles and Bows is a longstanding Bridal shop based in Hastings, East Sussex. Established in 1997, we are fast approaching our 20th happy year of making brides dreams come true!
We love to keep our ideas fresh and are forever customising gowns to bring bridal visions into life, and sometimes of course for fun we bring our own ideas to life for shoots.
Our stunning Sussex woodland shoot was inspired by an eclectic combination of laid back bohemian bridal style mixed with an ethereal fairy whimsy, celebrating the joyous beginnings of spring, with all it’s emerging lush green grown and beautiful bluebells. Our amazing team were able to interpret our ideas to perfection. Both gowns were selected from this coming seasons range from English designer Romantica of Devon.
For our bohemian inspired look we chose the gorgeous dress Victoria, an exquisite lace column style empire line dress with cappuccino underlay, an ivory lace overlay, a scattering of vintage style sparkle, and a divine plunging back. We paired the dress with a blush pink and ivory laser cut diamante hair garland from Richard Designs.
Bouquets from Dorothy Marchant in Bexhill perfectly complimented both of our looks. The first was a wild mix of unusual purple and white poppies, wild flowers, fresh ferns, twisted willow strands and eucalyptus, creating a relaxed bohemian feel.
The next bridal look features Beatrice, a stunning gown of ivory eyelash lace draped over soft gold tulle. The sweetheart bodice and soft flowing skirt create an ethereal fairy whimsy when teamed with a fresh crown of baby’s breath flowers.
The bouquet incorporated a mix of classic blooms and unusual dreamy touches. Full ivory roses and tulips were complimented with exotic orchids, reflective pearls, and draped ivy, all teamed with an array of pheasant and fluffy white feathers for a soft ethereal touch.
The make up and hair was inspired by the dresses used and we wanted to keep it very relaxed and beautiful giving brides to be something that could be easily re-created on their wedding day.
The photographers said: “It’s such a pleasure to work not only work in such an amazing location but to also have a great team that all have the vision to create something so simple but perfectly elegant. As you can see we were spoilt as photographers and we really did enjoy working on this shoot, it pushed our creative juices and the results we are very proud of.”
