Today we’re excited to bring you Suki and Thea’s EPIC tropical picture house Brighton wedding from July last year.
We’re all heart eyes over artists Suki and Thea’s beautiful Brighton cinema wedding where, in their words, they ‘Let our creative imaginations run riot and created something that was truly special to us’.
How beautiful are these photos from Anja and Moa at 7Two9 Photography too?
Before we hand over to this gorgeous and cool Sussex couple, for the low-down on their beautiful Brighton and Worthing wedding, here’s a few lovely words from their photographers Anja and Moa too:
“We had the pleasure to document the wedding between Suki and Thea. A celebration of love that was as beautiful and colourful as the couple… Starting off at the historical Picture House Duke of Yorks in Brighton with a beautiful ceremony on the theatre stage in front of an audience of family and friends. A lemon bus journey to Worthing and spending the rest of the day in a sunny garden with live music, food and dance.
It’s always something magical to capture someones special day through the lens of a camera. Suki and Thea’s was no exception with their contagious love and happiness!”
Now over to Suki and Thea to hear more about their colourful and creative Sussex wedding…
“For our hen nights we had a meal all together then split off into two groups. Suki went on to drink cocktails and sing her heart out in a karaoke booth with her mates. Thea opted for shots and then Lazer quest to the death… well ok not quite but a lot of her friends had decided to wear high heels so there were some near misses – rookie error! Both groups then re-joined towards the end of the evening and danced the night away.
We chose Brighton to get married so all our friends and family could easily come and what better place because of Brighton’s all round celebratory atmosphere.
With the Duke of York’s being our venue a lot of inspiration naturally came from there. It’s such a beautiful building steeped in history and grandeur.
We are both artists so we found it quite natural to come up with ideas but Pinterest was a fantastic tool for extra inspiration.
Theme wise, we were inspired by the atmosphere at the historic cinema and looking forward to our honeymoon in Hawaii- so I guess you could describe it as ‘tropical picture house!’
Our least favourite part of the wedding planning was…
How incredibly quickly the cost adds up – luckily it was all very much worth it!
Any DIY tips?
Marry an illustrator?! Make friends with a lot of really talented and extremely kind people?! Oh and look on Pinterest – especially good for tutorials on giant flowers and every kind of bunting imaginable.
Our favourite part of the wedding day was…
There are so many to choose from…Watching the films we prepared, complete with soundtracks before and after the ceremony has to be high up there. Sitting in the sunshine surrounded by smiling faces and hibiscus margaritas was also pretty good!
Our favourite part of planning our wedding was…
Letting our creative imaginations run riot and creating something that was truly special to us.
If we could do it all again we would…
Not use shiny envelopes for our invitations (the stamps fell off!) ”
Ha! Great tip! We LOVE this Brighton and Worthing wedding and all the colourful and creative ideas that Suki and Thea packed into it: the beautiful Brighton cinema venue, the home-made wedding films, the Hibiscus margaritas (yum), and the whole Hollywood vintage glamour with a tropical twist thing that they had going on; they both look gorgeous. The photos are just beautiful too. Thanks so much to Suki & Thea for sharing their epic Sussex wedding with us and to Anja and Moa at 7Two9 Photography too for sending this beautiful wedding our way.
