A Low Key Wedding at Havana Restaurant Brighton & Brighton Town Hall

Havana Restaurant Brighton Wedding and Brighton Town Hall

After visiting Brighton many times, Hertfordshire couple Rachel and Chris fell in love with our seaside city (who wouldn’t?!) and chose it as their dream wedding destination. Desiring a small and laid back day, the couple tied the knot at Brighton Town Hall and celebrated with their 20 guests at the uber gorgeous Havana Restaurant in Duke Street.

Over to the beautiful blushing bride Rachel to hear more:

Chris proposed on Christmas Day in 2011. He presented me with a small box wrapped in Christmas paper, I thought it was going to be an engagement ring but it turned out to be an iPod Shuffle. On the back he had engraved ‘Will you marry me?’and then he whipped out the engagement ring…

We chose to get married in Brighton as we have done several trips to Brighton and just love it! We like being really close to the sea too.

Most of our planning and inspiration came from browsing online sites, especially Pinterest, and looking through wedding magazines.

I’d describe our wedding as low key and small, with our chosen colours of blue, pale pink and white complementing this perfectly. To create simple but stylish place settings, in keeping with our laid back theme, my mum collected pebbles from the beach and then hand-painted them with each individual guest’s name.

We enjoyed planning our wedding as we kept it personal and fuss free. We only had 20 guests, but for us it was utterly perfect.

My top tip for other Sussex brides to-be is to stay true to what you want!

Honeymoon Hotspot: We’ve just got back from a blissful two week honeymoon in Bali

Team Wedding:

Wedding photographer: Neil W Shaw

Wedding venue: Brighton Town Hall

Reception venue: Havana Restaurant, Duke Street, Brighton

Bride’s dress: Brides of Berkhamstead

Groom’s outfit: Impeccable

Flowers: Andrew Fleming

This simple yet truly stunning wedding looks utterly laid back and Brighton (and it’s sites!) certainly shines through in these wonderful photographs.

Rachel not only wowed her guests but other passers-by in her delicately detailed dress from a boutique closer to home, while Chris also looked dapper all suited and booted.

We loved the fact that the bride and groom had their dream day their way and kept it very personal! The food at Havana Restaurant is amazing (they make a mean cocktail too), so they made a great choice there too! A massive thank you to the newly-weds for sharing their day with us and to Neil W Shaw for allowing us to feature these fun and fabulous photos.
