In Part 1 we heard from beautiful Brighton bride, Emma about her and Chris’s Brighton wedding at Fabrica and St. Peter’s Church. Now Emma lets us in on all the details of their colourful and creative wedding. All the fab photos today are by ace Brighton wedding photographer Andrew J R Squires.
Over to our Brighton bride today, Emma…
“My dress was a Benjamin Roberts, style 930 in ivory. I fell in love with this dress when I first tried it on but it was outside my price range. Luckily we found the dress in the exact size, and colour and in my hometown on Preloved.com. It had never been worn so was a really amazing find!
My shoes were Rachel Simpson, bought in Leonie Claire, Brighton.
My earrings were from Stella and Dot an American company which our friend works for, although they now trade in the UK too.
I got my hair done by Penny at our family hairdressers in Worthing, You Hair.
I mostly used Benefit make up, applied by friend and bridesmaid, Naomi Dawson. I wanted to spend money on make-up that I could use afterwards rather than a make-up artist, I am lucky to have a talented friend who did it for me!
Our bridesmaids found their own shoes and jewellery to personalize their own outfits. Their dresses were bought from various places on the high-street including H&M, Urban Outfitters, and ASOS. I gave the options of the girls finding and choosing their own dresses, but in the end I found most of them and it worked when they came together.
Chris’s suit, tie and shoes were all from J Crew.
Our groomsmen wore their own grey suits and shoes, with ties from H&M
My engagement and wedding ring was from Shane Company.
Chris’ wedding ring was handmade from etsy.
Pie Minister did our catering. I have eaten Pie Minister pies at festivals, and we had both had them at Borough Market. It seemed like the perfect option for a less formal meal. It also meant guests could choose the flavor of pie they wanted on the day. They also fitted in with our other ideas for food perfectly, we really wanted charcuterie platters to start and brownies for dessert, both of which were on their wedding menu! They were an incredibly friendly and helpful team and really flexible.
We got our wine in France from Majestic. It was really fun tasting and choosing the wine we wanted.
And we got the cheese for the evening from The Cheeseman who is a wholesaler, so we got it at a really good price and just had to put it together ourselves, it was really delicious cheese.
Our friends, Sarah and Jonny Bird who are amazing musicians (they trained at BIMM), put together a band for us.
Transport wise we had a vintage style open top cream bus, loaned by a friend of a friend!
Our wedding cake was also made by a friend, with inspiration from Pinterest.com, it was a vanilla sponge with raspberry cream, covered in fondant icing, with royal icing on top for the texture. Spare flowers from the florist were used to make the cake decoration. The cake stand was a disc of wood was from a tree in my Grandparent’s garden!
Our flowers were by Flowers-by-Lauren a friend of a friend, who had done the flowers for my sister’s wedding. She also made the flower balls which we had hanging in the reception.
We went to Spain for our honeymoon, starting on the Costa Brava coast and finishing up in Barcelona.”

Wow Emma totally lucked out on her dress, what a find! Everyone looks amazing and we love Emma’s long locks and big earrings too, we heart bold bridal jewellery here at Love Sussex Weddings (check out this inspiration shoot from earlier this year to see more Brighton bold bridal jewellery inspiration). The flowers are some of the nicest we’ve seen and the mismatched bridesmaids outfits in grey look fantastic too. Nice to see so many lovely local suppliers used in their wedding. And check out these last two photos shot on Brighton seafront too – only in Brighton!
Thanks so much to Emma and Chris for sharing their beautiful big Brighton day with us and thanks to Andy for these beautiful photos too.
